Rodel and ‘Schmarrn
A thrilling alpine adventure
Are you ready to experience the magic of winter in the Alps? Feel the crisp mountain air on your face as you sled down snowy mountain trails for kilometers on end with epic alpine views waiting around every bend. Eat like the locals do in scenic mountain top huts and cozy downtown taverns. Immerse yourself in the regional culture through a Kaiserschmarrn demonstration led by a local. Let your senses be delighted by spending a day with us in the Tyrolean Alps and in our own 250 year old Bavarian Werkstatt, an old tin-knocking workshop converted into a private and cozy kitchen.
We will meet at the Kufstein train station and take a short drive into the mountains to the SkiWelt ski resort where our alpine adventure will start. After getting sorted with our equipment and lift tickets, enjoy a scenic chairlift ride over snowy tree tops to the peak of the Astberg. It is all downhill from here (in a good way) as we wind our way down the mountain on the tree-lined 4.5 kilometer trail and meet back at the lower lift station to go up the lift one more time. Warm up and take in the views with a coffee, hot chocolate, and maybe a snack at cozy hut at the top of the mountain. We set off down the trail for one more run and meet at the bottom to eat lunch where the locals do. Take the opportunity here to taste some of the traditional alpine flavors before heading back to Oberaudorf.
At the Adventure Bavaria Werkstatt we will take part in an interactive demonstration of how to make a proper Kaiserschmarrn- a well-loved alpine pancake style dessert- and a schnapps or two for a sweet treat at the end of the day before we part ways.
