Every local has their 'hidden gem' from where they grew up.  Soin See is by far one of our favorite 'hidden gems'.  After taking the train to meet us in Oberaudorf* and a quick visit to the bakery to make sure everyone has a 2nd Bavarian breakfast in the form of ‘Butter Brezel’ we drive up into the mountains for about 30 mins to our hike start.  Here we begin our hike up to the pristine Soin lake.  Along the way we enjoy views into the Bavarian farmland, Austrian alps and walk through pine and fir forests and along meandering mountain streams.  The final push to SoinSee is steep but we are rewarded with crystal clear mountain waters and defined rock formations.  Enjoy a swim, Bavarian picnic and a little liquid courage in the form of homemade schnapps from Opa to get you ready for a cold but refreshing plunge.  After swimming, relaxing and refortification we make our way down to Geitau and enjoy a Bavarian tradition of "kaffee & Kuechen" or "Coffee & Cake".  After satisfying our sweet tooth we make our way back to Oberaudorf where we enjoy a short walk to the Auerburg Ruins for beautiful views of the Kaiser Mountains and a look back into the 12 century Auerburg Ruins.  We get you back to the train in time to make last call at the Hobrauhaus … if you have the energy. Or stay the night with us and book a schnitzel cook course to top off a wonderful day.

*Transportation can be arranged by pick up from Munich or surrounding cities at an added cost.
